Our Products, Our Plastic, Our Problem

Our Products, Our Plastic, Our Problem

Bringing a product into the world should take a lot of thought and consideration.

There are a million consequences that effect far more than just the cash flow.

For example;

-How will something we created effect others and the planet?

- Where will the waste go? Are we responsible for an ocean creature getting sick or dying?

- Does the world really need another skincare band?

These were just some of thoughts we had when thinking about launching My Skin Feels. We chose to launch it, so it’s my responsibility and this was never more present for us than when it came to our packaging and our plastic caps.

Unless you live off grid, there’s no way of being 100% sustainable. We have to start somewhere but it doesn’t mean that somewhere isn’t well thought out, and this is exactly what I have tried to do with our plastic caps.

Made from a thinner recyclable PP Polypropylene Plastic than traditional screw top caps, they can be easily unscrewed and popped in your local recycling bin OR you can send them back to us and we will hold on to them until we can turn them into something new.

Plus, if you send us your post office receipt, we will take that money off your next order.

We hope to make this process as smooth as possible in the future but I figure, doing something is better than nothing at all.

Although we’re only small, everything has a consequence, so we are personally taking responsibility. Our products, our plastic, our problem.

Watch this space and if you can, pretty please recycle our products, we’d love nothing more than that!
