Food waste to your face

When we first launched, there was no food waste-to-cosmetic processing infrastructure in the UK, so we looked to Europe for partners with the right expertise.

Italy stood out

Not only for its rich food culture, but also for the quality of its ingredients, which are often naturally high in antioxidants thanks to the sunshine.

Organic Leader

It’s also a leader in organic agriculture within the EU, with over 2.3 million hectares of organic land and around 20% of production certified organic, compared to around 3% in the UK.

Top Rescuer

On top of that, Italy has one of the largest agri-food sectors in Europe - meaning there’s significant opportunity to rescue and repurpose food that would otherwise go to waste.
